Super Blackhawk vs Super Blackhawk

Does anyone know the differences between:

Ruger Talo .44 mag New Model SBH and Lepsey's Ruger Bisley .44 mag New Model SBH

Both of these have a 3.75" barrel.

I really like the looks of these revolvers. I've been looking for the bisly version but can't find it anywhere. I think the Talo sbh with the western style grip looks better. The lipsey version looks like a boomerang, but also looks to be much better for handling heavy recoil.

Mine with the Pachmayrs is almost pleasant to shoot with my standard boomer load of 25 grains IMR 4227 and RCBS 250 grain Keith. Pretty accurate, also.
You'll know it's a magnum round.

With all due respect, a 3 3/4" barreled revolver just doen't seem to warrant the appellation of "Super Blackhawk."

To me the sbh is a hunting handgun & here in Oh. we are restricted to
a barrel of at least 5 inches. My Rugers all have longer barrels for that reason.

The only differences will be the Bisley will have a different gripframe, hammer and trigger. All other parts will be identical. That said, I would opt for the Bisley as I have fired every incarnation of Ruger .44 and the Bisley grip is by far the most comfortable, especially with heavier loads. YMMV.

To me, the SBH has always been, and always will be, 7-1/2" or 10", unfluted cylinder, and Dragoon grip framed...

However, I must admit to liking the look of the gun posted by Airman Basic, no matter what it is called...

But of course I'd have to have wood on mine :D

That is a sweet looking revolver. Oh, if I was twenty years younger and my collection and salary were headed back in the other direction! (insert sad face).

Both of my previous .44 Mag Super Blackhawks were 7 1/2" versions. I still have some full power reloads left after replacing the Rugers with an S&W M29 and a S&W M629. I would not shoot these loads in either S&W but my new 3 3/4" Super Blackhawk handeled them with no problem.

As others have said, the grip frame is the main difference between the two dealer exclusive Blackhawks. Pick whichever one feels best to you.

Have you guys with your own ideas of what a sbh should be ever heard of a packin pistol? Look I love long barrels but there are times when a long barrel can be a hinderence and a pia.

Yep ... a 5 1/2" BH in .45 Colt. Perfect pack'n pistol anywhere ;) . I carried a 7 1/2" SBH once as backup hunting sidearm and that we enough of that. BTW, each of us has our own idea of a perfect pack'n pistol!

Nice looking revolvers guys! I can picture how the 'rubberized' gripped revolver would look with proper wood grips too ;) Hah!

This, to me, is my idea of a Super Blackhawk:

And, they can be shortened:

And this, too:

And they don't have to be Three Screw models:
