Super Blackhawk or me?

Picked up my SBH 7-1/2" last Saturday and went to the range with a two boxes of handloads. 50 loaded with 7 grains of #5 and 50 loaded with 13 grains of #5 both with commercial cast 240 grain SWC. I could barely keep all the holes on an 8.5x11 sheet of paper at 10 meters. I know I need to get used to the new guns trigger, but this seems pretty dismal. I can shoot all day into a 3" circle unsupported with my 1911. I expected the revolver to do as well or better. Is it normal for a first time revolver shooter to scatter shots like this? Also, when I got the gun (new) the rear sight was set all the way to the right. I centered it so it wouldn't look so funny sighting. Sure enough, I had to move it back all the way to the right to get the "pattern" centered on the target. Is this normal? I'm going back to the range this weekend to shoot off of a sure-enough pistol rest to hopefully get a better idea of the SBH's accuracy. Any hints for using one of those plastic vee block pistol rests? Do you press the butt and barrel both into the rest, or just use it to steady your hold? Thanks in advance for any advice. That rear sight being cranked to the stop is really bothering me....

that ain't right. My SBH will do 2 inch groups at that range with no problem, and it sounds like you and I are about the same with autos. Also, my rear sight is centered.

Ditto what Hawkman said. My SBH's all shoot very tight groups.....with the rear sight centered, more or less.
If you have a buddy that can go to the range with you and see if he has the same results off a good rest as you. If so then it isn't just you it must be a problem with the gun.
