I am looking for a decent Over & Under 12 GA youth model. One that won't break the bank, but will hold up to 1000's of rounds!!

Tough call, Don. Cheap doubles are rarely good, good ones are rarely cheap. And the cheapest ones have regulation probs and questionable longevity.

In your shoes,I'd look for one of the older SKBs, the Winchester 101, or a Miroku Charles Daly. The 26" barreled field models preferred. Then I'd have a good stocker fit the thing to the "Yute".

Thank you. I am not really worried about cheap. I figure you get what you pay for, for the most part that is. I have seen some O&U's in the thousands. Can you say ChaChing?

Honestely, How about a starting point of $1000.00 give or take.

OK, here goes....

The ones I mentioned are good, add in the Lanber new. This is Spanish, lots of folks seem to like them over on Shooting Sportsman.

Both the Berettas and Brownings have their fans.
Browning after sale service seems pretty lackadaisical.

Beretta has good service, but their triggers oft need attention for best work. Their stocks have some odd dimensions also.

Both the B guns run well above $1K new, but used ones fall into your budget. One of these with a bit of work should give you a lifetime shotgun.

So would an old Superposed. These rarely come with choke tubes, but they last forever and rarely have regulation probs...

Thanks Dave. I'll start my search on your suggestions. I appreciate it!!

Just have to mention. I had the pleasure of holding a Citori. It was really sweet!! 2K + mind you but I loved the feel. It was an adult model not youth with 30 inch barrels.

You might take a look at this website, I've gotten some great deals. If you don't have an FFL to pull it in for you they list dealers that will do it for a small fee. In my humble opinion I think you would do better getting an auto for a young person, the recoil is much less. My sons loved the Rem 1100 lt. 20 ga when they were young, as an added plus my wife likes shooing it. Anyway that's my .02 cents worth. I think you will like Gunbroker.
