Suggestions for my next rifle, please. :-)

Well, I gotten to the point where I'd like another rifle (in semi-automatic).

I presently own a post ban Bushmaster AR-15 "Shorty"(16" HBAR), and am very happy with it. But, my next choice of rifle has got me totally stumped.

It seems my choices are either to:
a) get another AR-15 (pre ban this time).
b) get an AK-47 type
c) get a FN-FAL type
d) other :)

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Douglas, if it were me making the choice, I'd opt for another AR-15. You wouldn't need to start stocking a different caliber of ammunition from your Bushie, spare parts would interchange (unless you pick up a Colt), same for magazines which are not exactly cheap in their 'proper' capacities, and the operation of both weapons would be identical, something to consider under a potentially stressful encounter.

In the 'other' catagory, you could always purchase a post-ban lower and have an upper built, such as the Sledgehammer upper's from Tromix. www.tromix.com

I personally would go with a Remington 700 BDL in either .223 or .308.

i throw my vote in for the FAL!

or a good bolt gun with a leupold scope would make great sence.

AK-47. They are going to become scarce very soon. If you haven't had one, time to get one while the getting's good.
 
I would have to enter into the other catagory. Purchase a Browning BAR in the calibre of your choice.
