Such a thing as a 2001 Classic Featherweight?

Is there such a thing as a 2001 Winchester Model 70 in "Classic" Featherweight. I cant find anything on the series and that's what I was told I had. I see Featherweight but I don't see Classic anywhere.

The "Classic" designation referred to the return of the Controlled Round Feed.

I don't believe any of the guns actually had the word Classic on them.

Actually, some of the pre 2006 New Haven CRF Winchesters did say "classic" right on the barrel. I just dug mine out of the safe to confirm, I was sure it did. I think Mike is partly right though, now the term is used to denote the CRF, but the rifles are not actually marked thus.

EDIT: My model 70 is a Featherweight 30-06, and says "Classic" on the right side of the barrel. It is one of the last produced in New Haven.

The Classics were introduced in 1992-2006. Some say say "Classic" on the barrel, others do not. Yes they made a FWT version of the Classic. If it is CRF made in those years it is a Classic.

I own 3, the 1994 and 1999 rifle clearly state " Classic Sainless" on the barrels. The 2006 made rifle does not, but it is still a Classic.

Well I have the 2001 Classic Featherweight chambered in 300 WSM. I haven't looked yet but im going to go see now if Classic is stamped on it somewhere. I was told I have one of the best Model 70s ever made aside from the OLD OLD ones, is this true? I got blue steel though, not a stainless fan.
