Substantial leading after only 150 rounds *grumble*

This is with the (new) Python with the crazy forcing cone. The saga continues.

After putting 150 rounds of UMC .38's through it over a couple of days, I find what appears to be a _huge_ deposit of lead in the forcing cone. On the bottom there's a very thick lip which no amount of brush + solvent will remove. I gingerly went in with a thin allen wrench and was able to scrape some of it away. A lot remains and I don't want to press the issue. I'm kicking myself now for not checking the ammo closely, but from what I recall it was at least partially jacketed.

I went as far as to buy a drop rod and tested all the chambers. To my knowledge everything is all aligned.

What the heck gives with this gun? It shoots straight (to within my ability) but all this mechanical funkiness has me stymied. It should still be under warranty. Would it be within reason to send it back to Colt to demand a new barrel/cone job on it?

I'm liking my "trusty" 1911 a lot more these days. *grumble*
