I don't see an issue with this. Why? They already have similar equipment and this is for replacement or upgrade of some level. There are a fair amount of LE in Dept of Ag. Criminal investigators, OIG, as well as uniformed rangers, and even K9's.

In remote or rural areas where a ranger may work it might be a decent idea to have a long arm or carbine of some sort. Also body armor is normal and standard for most all of law enforcement in this day.

I can't. By the description, it sounds like they want the HK UMP40, which is a terrible subgun.

They would be better served by an M4.

But, maybe they don't have a contract for .223.
