sub cal adapters

Looking for something like these. Long ones. They came up again in a rifle forum thread. The ones here are $169, almost triple the amount of the site I found them on before. Of course, I never received a reply from that site so maybe they went out of business b/c they weren't charging enough.

I know Numrichs has the short ones, but if there isn't at least a few inches of barrel I don't see the point.
Anyone found them elsewhere?

Are you talking like the cheap "Lil Skeeters"? THOSE particular types are a royal PITA. There are good ones from Rhino and Briley that aren't cheap, but easier to use and perform better.

Sorry I neglected to include the link originally. Not interested in shotgun conversions such as available from Briley. Want conversion to cartridges.

so you want to shoot a bullet out of a shotgun
?
You can't see the benefit of being able to shoot 22lr or a pistol caliber out of a 12 single shot?

MCace is the site I had before. I tried for quite some time to contact them with no luck. I finally erased from my favorites. I will try again just to see if maybe the owner was sick for a while or something. I find it odd the site is up for years if the business is closed. On the other hand, nothing on the site has changed and that includes prices.

I have found the short ones several places online. They are available for a reasonable price from Numrichs, so that is where I would buy them.

no, I can't really see the benefit of shooting a bullet without any rifling to stabilize it. or overbored barrel for that mater.

Absolutely not, especially out of a short conversion - most rifle cartridges, upon leaving the barrel, tend to rise..............

The inserts are rifled. The shorter ones are akin to firing the cartridge for which each is chambered out of a derringer or a snub nose. The longer ones - I have one in .45 ACP that has a six inch barrel and fits into a break open 12 gauge - are as powerful as if shot from a pistol. The bullet traverses the length of the barrel without touching the barrel wall. The .45 will shot accurately enough at 25 yards to take small game.
Nice little doodads to have in a survival kit.....or a hunting vest.

Bought the .45 six incher from McAce. He is hard to get to. Keep at it.

I think you are incorrect. Due to the parabolic flight of rifle rounds and the fact that they are thus sighted to start out with the barrrel pointed up relative to the sights, they rise above the sightline after leaving the barrel, but fired on a flat trajectory they do not rise. At least that is what I have been lead to believe.

Pretty much everyone I have talked to who has these likes them. They certainly have limitations, but used on a trap line or to take a squirrel while hunting larger game these seem to work VERY well.

John: Have you tried calling McAce? As I recall, dealing with them was slow going. I believe - it's been some years - that I had to call to get a response. This was especially true during hunting season or fishing season.

These came up again a few days ago and I checked their site. There were a lot of changes so I decided it would be worthwhile trying to contact them again. GOt through with no problems. Ordering a 22LR and 9mm from 12GA and the 30-06 to 7.62X39 adapter. The 22lr and 9mm are of course the 10" barrels(rifled). The X39 adapter is bought without a defendable reason. I guess I am sort of wondering if my Garand can be made to feed the X39 without permanent adjustments. A X39 Garand at my local CMP shoot would probably cause a scene. I doubt it can though.

Think twice about buying anything from the company you linked to. Dealing with them has been the single worst transaction of any type I've ever had, and I live 10 minutes away.
