Sturdy Safes opinion?

I'm in the market for a gun safe, and I've been researching for a while now and I've narrowed it down to a Sturdy Safe. For my price range, I believe it offers the best options, best quality and seems like a solid safe.

The model I'm looking at is 72" high x 36" wide x 27 inches deep. I'm looking at the 7 gauge steel version and no fire liner, as I talked to the owner Terry and he said since I live in the city, he would advise that it's not necessary (about a $650+ difference). He also said I could get the fire liner at a later time if I wanted to.

What is your experience with these safes? For around $2000 delivered, could I get a better safe?

I've researched some of the AMSEC safes, and for around the $2000 mark, I can't get near as much safe as the Sturdy model I'm looking at. This safe will be backed up against a concrete wall and will be bolted to a concrete floor, just for reference.

Hm never heard of either of those companies, but it looks like they offer some nice options.

I'm really trying to get the biggest, best buglary protection and fire protection I can for around $2000 delivered...

I don't have any interest in a prettysafe, as this will be in the garage. Only want traditional style lock and no electronic dials.

I always believe that any safe is better than no safe, but for $2K you have a lot of choices.
Considering it has a dial lock, basic paint, external hinges, and no fire protection, I think you could do better.
I have a Champion with the electronic lock, shiny paint, gold color handle, same dimensions except 60" tall. Delivered and placed for much less than that.
Just my $.02.

You should contact a local safe company, and see what they have along the lines of a used double door commercial fire safe. They offer much better fire protection than most gun safes, offer equal or better security than most gun safes, and can hold a lot of guns.

We sell them starting in the $1,500 range, but it's not worth shipping them. If you need help finding a real safe company in your area, PM me, and I'll see who I can track down for you.

Hm ok thank you a1abdj. There really aren't too many safe companies in my area. I beleive the closest is Liberty in Ontario.

I really must have been inadequately informed, because from my research I couldn't find anything even close to the Sturdy in terms of quality and size.

The double door used commercial safe sounds like a good option...
