Stun Gun

Hi to all. Does anyone know or have knowledge about stun master 100,000 volt gun? CCW is allowed only to elite number here in my place and my wife is considering getting one of this.

According to the dealer, a half second charge would cause extreme pain but not enough to knock down adversary. A full second charge would cause temporary paralysis. Is this true?

Would like to know before we buy.

I don't envy you and your wife's situation. Being denied the right to properly defend ones self forces you to try and pick the best of some bad options.

Much like bullets, the effects of a stun gun depend largely on the physical, chemical, and psychological makeup of the target. In other words, a 1/4 second zap could kill a small or frail person while a full ten minutes could merely tickle a large man who's numbed his nervous system with drugs. There is just no way for your dealer to guarantee how an individual is going to react.

Stun guns also require physical or near physical contact with the assailant which is something I would want my wife to avoid at all costs. Even if the gun worked as promised, one full second is an awfully long period of time to be dancing with a violent attacker.

I wish I could offer you a better suggestion but I really can't. The other "non-gun" alternatives such as pepper spray or air-tazers (sp?) have their problems as well. Even with all of it's weaknesses the stun gun may be your best option in your situation.

I have taken a stun gun (DOn't know which kind) and held it to my arm for about 5-10 seconds. It hurt like hell yes. ANd my arm moved a little sluggish. But if someone would have been using one on me It would barely have slowed me down. In fact I think it would have just pissed me off that much more. Only two places I think a Stun gun would be effective. THe face right at the bridge of the nose. Or the back of the neck where the brain stem runs into the spine. THe face hit will probably mess the person up bad and the Neck shot would (I think) Mess with the nero impulses. Now I also know people that will go down if they are just brushed with a stun gun. Like JJR said it comes down to the person and how thier body is made up.

Oh I am 6 foot tall and about 225 Pounds.
 
OC is much better as an alternative.

Stun guns are crap. You have to touch the guy.
Taser darts can miss and get hung up on clothing.

Last, I've been stun gunned twice in hand to hand classes and so what? It's not that terrible.
 
I concurr with all of the above. I think a two dollaw water pistol loaded with jalapeno juice would be better than stun gun.

On a statistical basis of one, Berryman's carb cleaner put carjacker out of comission.
