I was at Walmart looking at the .223 ammo when this old geezer comes over and buys something. He strikes up a conversation with the checkout lady who I already know most likely knows nothing about guns. I'll cut out the other stuff he said, but he said some stuff along the lines of
"You got any new guns?"
She: Yeah, right there" she points to 4 AR's.
"Not my kind of gun" he said 4 times
Oh boy, here's where it gets good.

She" You don't wanna be rambo?"
He "No No No, he goes into this long drawn out talk about how he likes shotguns and revolvers and how he has a single action Redhawk or something, his explanation of how a single action works was great, "you can squeeze the trigger all day but you gotta pull the thing back to fire"

Anyway: he says how his brother has a REAL AR in 308 Nato (I was holding back laughing at that one). He then says, "it's a semi auto but it's better than those .22's(earlier he had said how an AR is just a .22 with a 17 shot clip, i cant make this stuff up). Yknow how they have a button for semi auto and full auto?" (I almost interrupted him but ignorance is too funny). "Well, he filed down that button where it would go into full auto, he almost go caught too. He was hunting, with his 3 round clip, and the game sheriff almost caught him but luckily that button was off.

I honestly can't remember what else he said after that. Anyway, some of the people who walk into Walmart are great. I usually don't go in walmart unless I really need ammo. But I just felt like sharing with you folks.

Thanks,

-Mo.

Any mag restriction for shotguns, is usually for those controlled by the Fed under migratory birds, like dove and waterfowl.

They exist, AR-10.

Not only do they exist. The AR-10 in .308 (or 7.62x51mm) was what the original Stoner design was, and what he proposed to the military. The .223/5.56 AR-15/M16 was derived from the original AR-10 when the military decided they would be happier with a poodle shooter that heldf more ammo without adding weight.

In know the AR 10 is an actual thing. I was just pointing out the humor in ".308 NATO" and that only AR 10's are "real" AR's by his standard.

I think the joke may be that it is chambered in .308 Winchester, not .308 Nato.

Probably a diller is an armadillo and Mosin you must not get out much if that is all that you have heard..... but then I am with him on the 5.56 as it being a good caliber for women and children and other sickly kinds of folk or for rodents only.

Face it the 5.56 SUCKS!!! More so in the M4 14 1/2" barrel. Now the 5.45 x39 will do a much better job. The poison bullet! It got the job done much better then the 5.56. The only AR that I would even think about getting(& I did) would be a piston AR in 6.8. And I think the US army would be better off with an piston AR in 6.8. And for our sidearm a sig 226 in 357sig.

One of my brothers works with a guy that has a....

"Beretta M9 full auto with the rotating bolt."

...and it is, "...untraceable, because I got it from a Delta Force guy that got to keep it when he got out."

But, amazingly, the guy can NEVER manage to bring it in to show it to anybody. It's always "locked in his dad's safe"; "at the gunsmith's for cleaning"; "loaned out to a Navy Seal for a mission"; or "at the cabin (where he keeps his secret stash [of guns?])"...

I used to work with some morons, too. But that was the first thing that came to mind.

We already have one Wal Mart thread open, which is one too many.

A mockery thread really doesn't fit in with our mission, which is the promotion of responsible firearms ownership.

Mosin, you might want to check your information. The AR-10 was the "real" AR, as it precedes the AR-15 by several years.
