Does anyone have any ideas about improving the trigger pull on a Taurus 441 ? Lighter Wolff springs tend to cause misfires. I've already spent more on this revolver than it's worth (new 3'' barrel, sent back to factory to fix timing). I'm going to get this gun to work right even though in the long run it would be cheaper to just buy a better 44 special.

The Wolff would have been my guess too...

I've heard of people cutting a couple of coils off the factory spring and that helping a bunch. I have a 608 that could use a trigger job but am leery about doing that until I give the Wolff springs a shot or at least have a replacement spring handy.

As you have discovered, changing the springs is only part of the solution. The friction in the firing mechanism needs to be removed and for that you need a gunsmith. The heavier springs are overcoming the friction of the moving parts. Reduce the friction, then reduce the spring tension if the trigger pull is still too heavy.

The biggest part of an action job is the polishing of mating surfaces in the action not just a spring change. Either learn what and how to polish your action or take it to a good gunsmith.

Thanks for all the information ! I've only put a couple of hundred rounds through the gun, but I purchased it from a security guard, so I'm guessing he would have at least put through a few hundred. I rarely dry fire the pistol. I know a world class gunsmith just a few miles down the road in Pinehurst, Texas. I'll take it to him and let him polish the action.

Thanks again !
