Strong words from Steve Hornady

I respected this man long before the S&W thing blew up -- now I respect him even more. Maybe someone should invite him to join TFL.

(His site is copyrighted, so I can only include a small quote here under "fair copying" guidelines. Check the rest out for yourselves.)

quote:
Well, I am very sorry to report, you and the entire firearms industry have been sold out by Smith & Wesson to the Clinton/Gore Anti Gun administration. The actions by S&W undermine the cooperative efforts to fight, as groundless, the lawsuits brought against the industry. This blatant treachery by S&W is designed solely to save their sorry skins and let the rest of the industry hang swinging in the wind.[/quote]

I was at his site looking for 300grain xtp's and also saw his message. Thought it pretty good. I'm glad to know there is still a heartbeat in the firearms industry.

Good words--good ammo. After reading your post, I went to the site and bought some. Good to know who you're dealing with.

I read it a couple of nights ago when I was looking for some info on their site. He has written a good statement condemning S&W's bending over for the lawyers. His company makes excellent products. Drop them a line of thanks on both counts, I have.

According to Steve Hornady, he reads all his e-mail. I'm sure he appreciates the support, but a lot of long messages may put a crimp in his day. (pun intended). I have invited him via a short message to stop in here (TFL)and see how his support on this issue is going over. My next purchases of reloading stuff will all be Hornady as my way of saying thanks. I was considering switching from the Hornady 240 gr .44 SWC/HP Item # 11118 because of the extra price vs other brands. Since I now have $2100.00 or so, the price of a Smith Model 41 and a Smith Schofied that I had planned on buying, to invest, guess where a lot of it will go?
I would encourage all those that wish to, to say a brief thanks, on the off chance it will be read.

After sniffing the winds, he went with the flow and joined the bandwagon. It was good for business and he said it just beautifully.

Cleancut...

I heard Steve Hornady on Greshem's Gun Talk a few months ago...there was no doubt as to his pro-stance on RKBA.
He wasn't sniffing the wind at all. The man has been and is always rigidly on our side.

I wrote to Steve on Friday. Today there was a note in my inbox from his CSR thanking me for my support (I use XTPs in my .44 and .45) and promising to fwd my message.

So I'm picking up some more Hornady stuff after work. :)

Are you lurking out there, Don Z and Ed S? Do you see how we treat the good guys? Do you understand that pissing off 80 million people with an expensive hobby is a Bad Idea?

DC, you're right. I was just kidding. As a matter of fact, I went out and bought a few of his products today. Really, no kidding. They were already on my list. A tumbler M2 -his had the best price with warranty. Same deal as RCBS but $30 cheaper. Kind of nice that you get something in return for supporting someone or a cause. Not like the N... uh oh. Better stop now. ;)
