If you are having problems finding them with a search - don't use "new Vauearo" . . use SAA or Colt SAA - same holster.

Check out flea bay . there are usually some on there. You may be able to find some but most will be of the traditional "western" loop style. It may be hard to coe up with a variety of holsters for CCW if that is what you are intending (I'm assuming that is what you are planning on). Part of the problem is that there is not the "demand" for a IWB or OWB (such as a high ride) as very few carry a SA for CCW.

You also might check with Bob Wright on this forum - he carries a SA if I remember correctly. He might be able to steer you in the right direction. If you can't find something . .you night have to have it custom made. Go to the CAS City site - go to the leather working forum and check out some of the work over there. Most of the guys are doing single action shooting rigs but you might be able to find one that would do a custom holster to fit what you want.

A New Vaquero should fit the same holster as for a SA Colt, Uberti Colt clone (Cattleman, etc.).

Yea CCW carry. The NewVaquero is a candiate for my card -OR- my 4" HB Model 10 to be more ttraditonal and efficent. I really like the Vaqquero aand hit real well with it. However the Model 10 reloads more efficently.
I have seen posts about S/A carry with high hip holsters.
My .357 New Vaquero is adequatelly powerful for S/D.
Thanks for the replys

Have you tried a full sized revolver IWB before? I would think that it is the cylinder width that makes it impractical. OWB is easy, and I am reminded of the Mitch Rosens in the Dillon catalog. They could give you the high ride and forward cant that you will need.

I sold one like this last winter on Ebay. It had been my dads, and he used it with his 4 5/8" Ruger Blackhawk. Nice holster, just not my style.

For a few years I carried my ruger Blackhawk .44 Special (Three Screw, ex-.357 Magnum) in this Bob Mernickle holster:

It's the PS-6SA model. Of late it places the gun butt a trifle too high for me. (No idea why that happened!)

For the past year of so, I've been using this modified Tom Threepersons holster made for me by Graveyard Jack Gunleather:

Both require a vest of jacket to fully conceal, or a big shirt.

The Graveyard Jack rig is very comfortable and very fast to get into action. Notice neither holster has a retaining strap, but retention is adequate for normal wear. I don't do the strenuous bit anymore.
