Stripper clip Bandoleers?

I got my battle rifle, (M1A), extra mags, reloading set up, and etc., and have been wondering about carrying extra ammo. With the price of mags being what they are, I dont think I'll be getting any more, priorities and stuff. Some of the other threads have got me thinking, and I think I have a good idea. Extra mags in tac vest, backed up by stripper clips.

I seem to remember seeing somewhere SKS stripper clip bandoleers. Each "pouch" will carry two 5-round stripper clips, and has 10 (?) or so pouches on the bandoleer? Right?

The M1A has a built in stripper clip guide, and pumping in 5 more rounds is faster than a mag change, and gives me a way to carry extra ammo to boot.

The question (s) is:

Who sells the bandoleers?
Will 308's on clips fit in the pouches?
What other drawbacks besides weight would there be?

Why not just get a few of the US bandoliers? They are cheap and made for the M14 clips. Six pockets, with 2 clips in each plus the guide for loading the mags off the gun. You can get the cardboard and all.

I do not know that .308 will fit into SKS bandoleers. Try for the surplus military bandoleers. A company called Fred's in shotgun news has just about any accessory for the M1a1/M-14: 6 pocket bandoleer with safety pin, 12-5rd clips, 6 cardboards and a mag filler all unissued US GI!--- This set up will reload 3 mags $7.50

I just bought some stripper clips and a pouch bandolier for my SKS from SKSman.com.
This is a good site - check it out.
Don't know if 308 would fit though.

Hey, thanks for the info and links. I didnt even know they made the stripper kit bandoleer for the M14.

Whats the cardboard for? To slip inbetween the stripper clips, so they wont rattle in the bandoleer?
