Stress Relief

I am not sure if this should go in "Pistolcraft" or in "Live Firing Exercises". I'll let our esteemed gurus decide. What's more, I doubt if they will be many additions to this thread.

However, I thought a few TFL regulars might want to share a guaranteed "stress relief" package:
> I had a tough day at work yesterday.
> The obvious remedy -- go to the range.
> Fired 100 rounds of .38 Special FMJ through my Smith 627.
> Achieved "personal best" accuracy at both long (50+ feet) and short (20 feet) ranges (I know many of our can members easily outshoot me "on my best day" . . . . the point is, this was a "best day").
> Finally, found a new-in-box, four-inch, all stainless, adjustable rear sight Ruger GP-100 for $315 on the Internet and bought it.

Turned out to be a great day after all.

I was having a stressful day yesterday. I drove home from work in my jeep in the rain with the top off.
My girlfriend bitched at me about various things and my dog peed on the floor.

I grabbed my glock 35 and my super redhawk and went to the range. After the first six .44 magnums all the stress was gone. I try not to sweat the small stuff but when it adds up I shoot the small stuff with BIG STUFF.

Hopefully we won't be stressed today.

I used to know a retired Air Force colonel who recommended the shooting range for stress relief. He'd say that a person could have a lousy day (week, month) and be mad at the world, but that a few minutes on the firing line would mellow his outlook. Sounds to me like a healthy response.

I've been doing Friday afternoon range sessions as a way to wind down the work week for a couple of years now. Great way to get the weekend off to a good start.
