Streamlight TLR-1 on Mossberg 500?

I'd like to mount a streamlight tlr-1s on my mossber 500 bedroom gun and I found this light mounting adapter that they make. It's listed as specifically for the 870...? Anyone know if it can be used on the 500 or if it could be readily modified to work? Thanks

I have a Mossy 500 and use this mount for my TLR-3. It clamps onto the lower tube and has 3 small rails. Works great and not that expensive.

No, the position of my left hand on the gun puts my finger in easy reach of the switch on the light. I use the TLR-3 because it will also fit on my M&P semi-auto.
