storage of guns

yesterday i decided to clean my gun. i keep it in the bottom drawer of the nightstand. (wow. what does it say about me that i keep a loaded gun next to my condoms?)
i opened the drawer and found it with patches of rust. WTF?
apparently, some AA batteries leaked and corroded my STAINLESS gun. i took it to the shop and they said that the cylinder might be lost. with such a small gap between the cylinder walls and the casings, fumes or acid or whaever was trapped.

let this be a warning. before yesterday, i wouldn't have even considered a danger in keeping batteries in close proximity to a gun or anything else.

Yeah, I'd check out those condoms too, before you find yourself with a few of them two legged puppies running around the place.

(Wondering why the wife/girlfriend is keeping the spare batteries in your nightstand .... Oh, nevermind ... tee.hee.hee  )

Sorry about the gun ....

P.S. Seriously, though, thanks for the warning. Going to have to re-look my flashlight locations, etc.
