Stoeger Luger barrel removal

I've got an old Stoeger Luger that I'm wanting to remove the barrel from. It is pinned across the frame on the underside of the barrel at the back. Once I remove that pin, does anyone have a trick for removing the barrel out the front of the frame without damaging it?
Thanks in advance,
Jim

I guess I should have put this in the Smithy category, sorry. Please feel free to move it and again, my apologies.

They may vary, but I seem to recall that the barrel is not threaded, it is just a slip fit and pulls out with very little "persuasion", just a twist and pull. (Make sure the breech block is open before twisting, though, or you could damage the extractor.)

I don't think he is, as far as I recall the .22 did not have a removable barrel. The frame and barrel was one piece of cast aluminum with a .22 barrel liner.

Thanks, yes I am talking about the 22lr model. The frame is cast aluminum, but the barrel is steel.

I bought this pistol very cheap some time back, and the muzzle of the barrel was pretty pitted from rust. It cleaned up reasonably and shoots just fine, but I found a good condition used barrel for a fair price and ordered it. In anticipation of its arrival, I was looking at removing the old one.
It would seem that it is a slip fit, and with the pin removed it does readily 'twist' with very little persuasion, but the 'pull' is not cooperating very well.
I just thought that someone may know of a 'trick' to it is all, before I go breaking something!

Got it.
My oldest came over this morning for us to head to a local gun show. He provided the 'third hand' I needed to hang onto the pistol and still apply enough 'persuasion' to get the barrel free from the frame.
Thanks for the input.
