Stoeger Condor

I've got one. A 12 gauge. The one I have has super good fit and finish and it is a very nice shotgun IMHO.

I've shot a Ruger Red Label before and don't see much improvement.

I've never shot a Beretta or Browning O/U so my question is for those who know this shotgun and the higher priced ones...

Is it a decent shotgun in your opinion? Thanks.
 
They're an OK shotgun for the money. Finish on the ones I have handled left a lot to be desired, but then I own a Citori for comparison. I have heard about issues with the firing pins breaking, but I never see them in the shop, so I don't know about that. I have never fired one in the field, but the triggers are pretty stout on the ones I have fired at the range. Like I said, an OK shotgun for the money.
 
It has taken alot of self control not to buy a Mossberg 930 SPX (which I wish to heaven was a better fitting more reliable gun) and that shiny Condor with a black stock and rifley sights. Novelty, but cool!
 
I've had both the Condor and the Red Label. I'm a Stoeger fan and my go-to bird gun is a Stoeger Uplander SxS.

That said, you really didn't see an improvement from the Condor to the Red Label? I think the fit, finish, attention to detail and overall feel of the Red Label is much better. The Condor was a good, solid gun, and I sold it to a friend (who I don't hate) who still uses it but, to me, there isn't much comparison detail-wise. I think the Red Label is a much 'nicer' gun.

To me, the Condor has an unpleasant 'chunkiness' about it.

THAT said, the birds I shot with both didn't really care one way or the other.

Exactly the way I saw the Condor vs. the Red Label. I didn't mean fit, finish etc. Only that the Condor works okay. The Red Label comes up much better but I'm a lousy shot with a shotgun since I don't shoot trap anymore, so it probably is good enough for me.
