Stoeger 410 Coach Gun

Hi,
I bought a used Stoeger 410 Coach Gun for my grandson.
Great condition, but no user manuals, etc. Stoeger website was no help, and trying to talk to customer service is a joke.
From what I can find...the barrels are MOD & IMP CYL fixed chokes... is this true ... one CS agaent told me that both barrels were FULL chokes...

My questions are..
--Which barrel is MOD, and which is the IMP CYL...I can't find any markings..
--Which trigger fires which barrel...
--And is it safe to fire slugs thru either barrel....
Thanks,
John

left trigger fires the left barrel, right trigger fires the right barrel. IF the barrels are IC/M, odds are the right barrel will be IC and the left M. Remove the forearm, and take barrel assembly off the gun and look on the underside. If it is not spelled out, there might be * type markings or similar. let us know what you find and we can narrow it down for you

According to Stoeger website, the 410 is choked full and full

Thanks,

When I went to the Stoeger website, it looked like the chokes on the coach guns were all fixed (MOD & IC).... where did you find that they are both FULL...
The only markings I found on the barrels were on the underside..... left barrel had 3 STARS stamped on it....RIGHT barrel had 4 STARS stamped on it...
Thanks for your help...

They list several models as only F&F. There appears to be one, however, that might be yours, and the stars would agree with that. I was looking at the Uplander versions of your gun, but there appears to be one other version:

31410 20” A-Grade .410 Fixed 6.3 lbs. $449

and THAT one does indeed list IC/M

Looks good in either case for your intended purpose. make sure the stock isn't too long or that he leans back.

Have fun with it!

Pete,
Thanks,
How did you determine FULL & FULL....
As I look at the website again....the Coach Guns are listed as MOD & IMP CYL.
This has been really nuts..... tried Stoeger Cust Serv over 4 times today, and put on hold for over 10 min each time.....
Take Care,
John

The UPLANDER coach guns seems to be all F&F - ( not that they can't be opened up for about $35 per barrel), but there is the one I saw where the models in all gauges are IC/M - which is a great upland combo

.410

How did you determine FULL & FULL.
I measured them.
But.....now you have me wondering. I have had the gun for some years now. Double triggers, fixed chokes, 20" barrels, weight about seven pounds.....it is a combination of the elements of the Uplander and the Coach gun that I found on the Stoeger website. A handy little item.
I am away from the gun at the moment. When I get back to it later today, I will pull the barrels and look.

Don't forget.... I am referring to the COACH GUN (20" bbls), not the UPLANDER (22"bbls)....I did see the UPLANDER 410 as as having F&F chokes..

Choke markings

*=Full
**= Improved Modified
***=Modified
****=Improved Cylinder
*****=Cylinder

Yours is Mod / IC

Getting back

My mistake about the coach gun. When I got back to the gun last night, I took a look. Not F/F. Twenty inch barrels, IC/M. Double triggers.
Pete
PS - now I am wondering what it was that I did measure to come up with the FC idea. Alas.

Pete,
I'm an engineer (retired) and I measure stuff wrong all the time.... I use the excuse that I'm really old...
Take Care,
John
