Stock for an old SS shotgun?

I have an old side by side 12ga that was my grandfathers. Its an old Sears gun and is very plain. After gramps passed, this became mine. Due to lack of care and improper storage in gramps' later years, the rear stock became dry and brittle. The first time I shot it, the stock cracked. The gun is not worth much monetarily but has a special place in my safe and I love to take it out and do some light hunting with it, it function great and is still tight. Id like to replace the stock, but I think it will need to be a custom job to fit right. Anyone know of someone in Ohio doing stock work or any ideas on how to fix it myself?

If you look up the Sears Model No ( like 101.2186/whatever) in the Blue Book of Gun Values Store Brand Cross Reference Listing, or the same listing online @ Numrich Arms, you might be able to determine the manufacturer - most likely Savage/Stevens (Model 311 or "B"), for which buttstocks are readily available.

Alternatively, MidwayUSA has a National gunsmiths listings, so folks can locate one near their residence.

Also, cracked stocks can be repaired via spreading the crack & drizzling epoxy inside it, mixed with some stock sawdust.
