Stock Filler

I was watching a video of McMillan's stock making process online and saw where after the fiberglass cured in the mold they then stuffed it before inletting. Does anyone have any idea what the stuffing is? It just looks like bondo to me.

McMillan uses different types of fiberglass fill in the receiver area, depending on whether it's an ultralight, magnum, etc. They will use different foam densities and cloth, especially as needed in areas requiring reinforcement in the recoil lug area, or areas like the buttstock that need to receive hardware fasteners.

The forends are filled with a glass-bead epoxy putty. No strength- light weight.
