I saw one in the local gunshop, anyone shot one, they seem real nice fit and finish. I really like the thinness of the slide (specs say .765) the grips were thicker.

is has the 1911 style trigger, hammer function

Yes. I thought I got one about a year ago but my wife aquired it. I just ordered another for myself.

Fit and finish far exceed my Kimbers or any Springfields I've seen.

While the difference in size and weight between the LS and my Kimber Compact isn't huge, for me it's enough difference that I prefer it for carry over my Kimber.

In the 40, it's not a gun you're going to want to go out and run 200 rounds through but it's still easier on my hand than my Kahr MK-40 was. Also, the grip on the LS is just a bit longer than the MK and it makes it much easier to control muzzle flip.

Where did you see the LS, at the Trop?

I haven't been to Trop's for awhile. Now's not a good time to go though. Place will be packed with deer hunters.
