I've got an STI frame and slide along with Nowlin ramped barrel etc., that I was going to have a local pistolsmith fit for me. The gun will be an IDPA competition piece. I only need the slide/frame/barrel fitting done since I usually fit the safeties and such myself.
But alas, my gunsmith is unavailable. I talked to the smith at STI and he says he can do the job - same as the STI Short Block - and I'll be on my way.
The question is...has anybody had any experience with STI smithing? I'm kind of picky about the slide to frame fit and really picky about barrel fit. The guy sounds like he's ok and he does the slide/frame sets for STI. Anybody got an opinion??
