STI Edge

I have one. It is great for IPSC type shooting. It handles recoil extremely well, even for full powered .40 S&W rounds, due to the dual spring design. The accuracy is phenomenal due to the heavy bull barrel. I bought mine used and it had some work done on it so I can't comment on the stock trigger. Mine has the SV hammer on it and the trigger is pretty ridiculous. . It has very little take up and is very light and crisp. The triggers can be changed out petty easily to better fit your hand. The grip is very beefy to accommodate the high capacity double stacked mag. Overall, I'd say I'm very happy with the gun. I never had the time to really get into IPSC, but I was introduced to STI when I tried it the first time. Hope this helps!
 
I'm tried to trade for the one but that store was just too unreasonable. I'll see if a different store has one that usually is easier to trade with.

They seem like a great gun the more I read about them. What the ParaOrdnance should have been.
 
I heard Guns Plus in Georgetown had a great selection of STI guns so I went up there last Saturday to see if I could fare any better on a trade and I did.

I got to see and handle a Legend, a Perfect 10, a STI Custom shop (no longer exists) 6" bbl. 10mm with a Schumann island barrel, an Executive, a Tactical hard chrome, and some others I can't recall.

I was all set to get something with a full length dust cover having seen an Edge a week ago and liking it.

I could have had that new perfect 10 but the Schuemann barreled custom was less muzzle heavy and more accurate so that's what I got.

I also wanted a Legend but I couldn't get decent value for either of the high end guns I brought to trade. That may be a blessing in disguise having now shot this gun. I may just get an apeiro with a Schuemann someday.

All groups below with 4 assorted cheapass 10mm FMJ range ammo are 25 yard groups except the lower left which is the initial 10 yard group. This Schumann island barrel is accurate. I wonder how much more than stock bull STI.

I found the grips raspy, what do you do? File it smooth? Put a rubber on it?

Should I put a Dawson fiber optic front on it?
 
Excuse me... But did I read that correctly? A Perfect 10 with a Schumann barrel? Or a custom gun with Schumann barrel? If latter, what was the barrel length?
 
Custom shop 10 with 6" Schumann island barrel.

Differs from the Perfect 10 in the barrel and my custom does not have a full length dust cover. Also mine was owned by a STI employee and lovingly worked over.
