Anyone own one of these? The local store I frequent got a good selection of these in the other day and they kind of interest me. Feel good in the hand and I like some of the design features.

Any info would be appreciated.

I have a Steyr Professional III, which is the predecessor of the current (SBS?) models. It, too, has the synthetic stock, removable magazine (wish it was metal, not plastic), and hammer-forged barrel. It has the Euro "butter knife" bolt handle, which I like. The new guns have a tang safety, and the camo model with matte stainless is trick looking.

Mine is all black... stock and matte/parkerized barrel, in .270Win. It also has the Euro-style double-set trigger, which you can "set" so that it breaks at about 1/2#, or shoot normally. Took some getting used to, but it works. The gun is VERY accurate when I do my part with shooting and handloads. I have gotten 3-shot, one hole groups measuring at just under 1/2" from the bench, and groups under 1" are no problem. In other words, it's plently accurate, especially for hunting.

I have no experience with the latest models, but I hear they are good, and they share many of the same features as mine. FWIW. Cheers.

If you can afford one---Get it!!! They are very good guns----my buddy has 3----2 old design and 1 new one-----all are tackdrivers.

Excelent rifles.

Mine (plain SBS with a Burris 3-9X32) will shoot m.o.a. at 200 yards in .308.

get one and enjoy.

My 26" HB Tactical SBS is a great rifle! No FTFs and smooth as butter. The best out of the box trigger I have shot. And easily 1/2 moa if you do your part.
My only complaint is the stock. It is a superb design for a hunting stock but sucks for tactical work. Easily solved with a McMillan A-3 though. I should have mine back from McMillan in two weeks!

What shop were you in? Did they have any in .300 WM?

I have a Steyr Mannlicher model S in 300 Win Mag, double set triggers, very nice rifle and very accurate, cloverleaf groups at 100 yds.
You wont be disappointed.

A happy Scout owner here.:D It only seems to get better with use. The only down side was the price, but after shooting it for awhile it seems more like a deal.;)
