I am consdering the purchase of a Steyr Mountain Rifle in .308. I will be using it for occasional hunting, but more often for local sporter rifle matches. (28-32 shots per match...?)
1)How accurate is this gun out of the box? (I handload).
2)Will the multi-shot strings in the matches drift due to the light barrel? If so, how much? (Assume 6-8 shots within 3 minutes)
3)Would a Steyr in the standard or heavy barrel drift less? If so, how much?
I really like the feel and balance of the Mountain Rifle, but I worry that other drawbacks will outweigh them.
