Has anyone here bought a Steyr M9 or S9 from CDNN Investments lately? I am wonder whether they have the trigger upgrade. I am sure that the S9s have the upgrade, but am unsure about the M9s from CDNN.

If you would be so kind, please save me the trip over to CDNN ... what is their price for the Steyr M9 and S9 pistols? I am especially intrigued by their G26-like compact.

lunde, I don't know if the steyr is for you but I see you are from San Jose. Steyr's aren't legal to sell in cali, they aren't on the safe list. Mark

CDNN is selling M9s for $339, and S9s for $499. You can get night sight M9s for $379. I am aware that they are not approved for California sale, but this would be a gift from my father, and parent-child gifts are exempt from that silliness.

Since CDNN took GSI's last batch I would assume they have the trigger upgrade. Also the M40 came out before the M9, and it was mainly M40's that needed the upgrade. To be sure, check on the serial #. Above 5000 should be safe.
CDNN won't ship pistols to NY or Maryland, and probably not California either.
Great price for a fine pistol.

lunde, if that works with your father that is great. I was wondering where exactly is that on the DOJ website? It doesn't show any exemption on importation like that on the safe list page. I see where a gift from a parent is ok but I don't see where it says that it exempts "non-safe" handgun importation. I'm not trying to start anything just curious how to legally import handguns not on the list. Mark

Here is the relevant drop-testing stuff:
CHAPTER 1.3. UNSAFE HANDGUNS

12132(b): The sale, loan, or transfer of any firearm that is exempt
from the provisions of subdivision (d) of Section 12072 pursuant to
any applicable exemption contained in Section 12078, if the sale,
loan, or transfer complies with the requirements of that applicable
exemption to subdivision (d) of Section 12072.
When I then refer to 12078, I find the exemption, which qualifies in the case of a father-to-son transfer:
ARTICLE 4. LICENSES TO SELL FIREARMS

12078(c)(2): Subdivision (d) of Section 12072 shall not apply to the
infrequent transfer of a pistol, revolver, or other firearm capable of
being concealed upon the person by gift, bequest, intestate
succession, or other means by one individual to another if both
individuals are members of the same immediate family and both of the
following conditions are met:

(A) The person to whom the firearm is transferred shall, within 30
days of taking possession of the firearm, forward by prepaid mail
or deliver in person to the Department of Justice, a report that
includes information concerning the individual taking possession
of the firearm, how title was obtained and from whom, and a
description of the firearm in question. The report forms that
individuals complete pursuant to this paragraph shall be provided
to them by the Department of Justice.
(B) Prior to taking possession of the firearm, the person taking
title to the firearm shall obtain a basic firearm safety
certificate.

12078(c)(3): As used in this subdivision, "immediate family member"
means any one of the following relationships:
(A) Parent and child.
(B) Grandparent and grandchild.
So, there you have it.
