Steyr M357's Coming in March

That's right. The Steyr M357 pistol is hitting the market in March or April.

According to the Steyr M Owner's Manual, the M357 weighs about .6 oz. more than the M40 which weighs about .7 oz. more than the M9.

By the way, I lot of people talk about the loud flashy bang of the 357 SIG caliber. That's not always true at all. It depends on the bullet weight and the powder used.

I've made reloads that sound quite similar to the .40 S&W. I've made light target loads that feel like a 9mm Luger. Some of the heavier 147 grain 357 SIG rounds I've reloaded don't even turn heads on the range, or at least no more so than a typical .40 would.

With decent ear protection, the 357 SIG noise is a moot point. I understand that some of the wiser agencies even use electronic ear inserts/muffs to protect themselves and to hear normal sounds better.

So go out and pick up a 357 today or in March <G>

Note: A Steyr rep just informed me that the 'L' large series model (.45, etc) may not happen. In fact, he asked if I would mind removing it from my article before it was published on the net. So I did. Sorry to all you big bore fans.
