Steyr M1912 issues

We've got a steyr m1912 in the shop that won't fire. We went in and replaced the hammer spring with a stronger one but when the hammer falls, it strikes the firing pin but doesn't even touch the primer. No dimple or anything. Guy got the gun from Cabelas. Came with all sorts of documentation of WW2 capture. Pretty cool pistol but won't fire or extract.

Have you pulled the firing pin and its return spring from the slide to see if the pin still has its nose or if something is clogging up the firing pin tunnel that needs to be cleaned out?

There's an exploded drawing here, if that's any help to you.

The firing pin is retained by the extractor. Taking it out could be a bit tricky.

You can check the firing pin protrusion by pushing in the rear end of the firing pin.

It is likely a broken firing pin. Hopefully replacement parts are still available, or you will have to retip the pin.
