Steyr M Series Pistols

These pistols (STEYR M SERIES PISTOLS) are selling on CDNN for $369.00. I don't know much about them except that Steyr make a fine battle rifle.

Any info aout there about them?

Steyr is toast!!! The owner of the land they had their factory on, sold it right from under them!!!! "we take guns off of the worlds streets and as an added bonus, there's money to be made here!!!!"
 
I have a Steyr M40 and I like it a lot. It's a fine quality handgun, mechanically similar to a Glock (only a bit beefed up) but I find the ergonomics of the Steyr to be superior to the Glock (but that's in my hand, YMMV) On a really unimportant note I find the Steyr M to be a much more elegant looking gun then the Glock ;) .

My only problem I with the Steyrs being sold by CDNN is that they only come with 1 magazine but the Steyr M pistols left Steyr with 2 (CDNN will be glad to sell you the second magazine for $35-40 of course). There are a couple on www.gunbroker.com that are priced competitively.

Steyr is not toast :rolleyes: BMW owns the land one of their production facilities is on and wants it to build BMWs ... Steyr was reciently sold but the new buyer is committed to keeping Steyr around for a long time.

What's your source on that? are you saying that BMW is anti gun?
 
I have the steyr m9 and really like it. Better than my glock 19. I think it's a very good value even with one magazine.
 
I was speaking of the international banking cartel that owned the land prior to BMW aquiring it!! I am aware that the new owner WANTS to resume production, but want to and going to are two different things. When I see Styers on shelves again and not just in the pages of a liquidator's catalog, then I will believe...;)
 
I have an M9 and am very fond of it. I didn't pay $369.00 unfortunately. I was choosing between it and the Glock 19. The Steyr fit my hand better and simply felt better to me than the Glock. Completely a personal experience, I have relatively small hands and the shape of the Steyr grip is very comfortable. Recoil is minimal and it is extremely accurate.

Add a manual safety along with the trigger safety, firing pin block and you've got a really well thought out pistol.

GSI indicated to me that they had been in contact with Steyr and were committed to service for the M series for the foreseeable future.
