A friend of mine just purchased a steyr m357 A-1, and it is a great shooting
little pistol. The problem is, when you pull the slide to chamber a round, the gun does not always cock itself. sometimes you must pull the slide back 3 or four times to get it to actually cock it.
Once you get it cocked, the recoil cocks the gun no problem. I'ts just getting it cocked for the first time that is a pain. I emptied half the magazine trying to cock the gun. then had to pull out the magazine and re insert the rounds I ejected trying to cock it.
It was purchased from a pawn shop and I told him that I think most pawn shops are as is. But it is his ccw so I was just wandering if anyone knew what the problem might be. I stripped the gun down completely, but did not see any obvious problems.
Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks
