I hope that someone here can help me. I have an old stevens pump action 12 gauge that my grandfather left me. I realize that it isn't worth much but is more of a sentimental thing than anything. But I have been trying to repair it as it was inoperable the action was completely jammed and wouldn't move. I was able to get it apart and clean it throughly. Once it was cleaned I thought it would work properly. but I noticed that the block the firing pin in in wouldn't go all the way back. I thought that it may have just needed a little more force than just a slight rearward movement with my finger. Once I had it all the ways back together I went to cycle the action but it was completely jammed again. I took it apart again and wasn't able to see any obvious problems. Does any one know what might be the problem? I have consulted a gunsmith but was told I would be charged 40-60 just to look at it so I am trying to do it myself. Any help is apprciated.
