stevens 620 HELP!!!

i got this gun from a friend who passed away. it seems in good condition but it has been in an attic for years. something was spilled on the gun a few years back. i took it home and took it apart all except for the trigger group. it is pinned in the back. it only goes in one side. is it supposed to be drilled out. i cant see any other way. i hope somebody has one and knows what im talking about. thanks :confused:

There should be a screw that goes through the tang of the reciever into the trigger gaurd. Remove it and the trigger gaurd should swing down out of the reciever so you can clean it. I would suggest using a spray cleaner on it and then use a tooth brush to scrub it if needed to get out whatever was spilled on it. Good luck,
