Stevens 512

A local shop has a bunch of the stevens 512 O/U shotguns that are factory scratch and dent rejects available for $299. At that price is there any reason not to get one for a grouse gun in 20 or 410? Not into shooting comp. just some random clay pigeons every once in a while so it might get 1000 rounds a year.

I bought myself one of the Stevens .410 Gold Wings as a Christmas present last December, but have only been able to use it sporadically during the tail end of bird season here, what with the holidays & all - but can say that I really like it, so far.

The fit/finish is good, but not as good as either my Beretta BL3 or 686 - but then it didn't cost upwards of $1K, either.

I have several scatterguns, so with spreading my shotgun use out, I don't see it getting more than a box of shells a year put through it - which should be fine. YMMV.
