Stevens 310 dbl bbl shotgun

There was a rather nice looking 16 Stevens in the store today for $149. I would have taken it had I not bought my Stoeger last month. The case hardened receiver was rather nice, the wood and bluing good. Chop the bbl and add a front bead and it would work. I didn't pick it up to really examine it as I was rather sorry that I already spent the $300 for mine and didn't want to find out that it was like new. Jim

I believe you're referring to the 311 Stevens. Yes they are a good economy-grade (mostly) shotgun. I see many of them used at matches.

I had a 311 in 12ga. back in the 60's. It was a fine shooter. Seemed to fit me perfectly.
Later I had the same gun from Sears in 20ga.
While the wood was not very good, it worked just fine. Wish I had both of them back.
