Steven Segal "Lawman"

After watching several episodes of the show I walk away with a "anti-gun" taste in my mouth.
Several comments made by Mr. Segal thought the shows made it seem that any Firearm in the public hands is bad and is just waiting to find someone to use it in a crime

Anyone else????
 
I retired from that department, Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office, after 20+ years. The previous sheriff, Harry Lee, befriended many Hollywood types when they came to town. Seagal was one who obtained an ID, etc. No training. no qualifications at the time.

I watched part of the show and almost threw up. I know many of the guys that were shown on it. Many are worthless. They want people to be impressed with their badge and gun. I noticed that things have not changed. It is extremely rank top heavy with the brass running around running their mouths usually messing things up and the lowly deputy getting to do the work, i.e. sorting out the mess and doing the paper work.

I don't have a good opinion of Steven Seagal which I'll keep to myself. But he should go back to Hollywood, continue to make B movies, and let the real professionals do their job without the "show." The other kiss asses should go hide and stop embarrassing themselves.

I think it's less anti-gun as it is pro LEO protection.
The theme on guns seems to be lawful owners need to transport them correctly and unlawful possessors need to visit the jail house.
At least from the episodes I have watched.

Not withstanding LaBulldog's inside knowledge of the department.
 
JPSO is pro gun. You can get a concealed carry permit easily but it is only good for the jurisdiction, Jefferson Parish. A state permit to carry requires more effort.

Like anywhere, it is a bad idea to carry concealed if you don't have a permit. You get arrested and the pistol is confiscated, possibly never to be returned.

Louisiana is an open carry state and your vehicle is considered an extension of your home.

wasn't this guy extorted twice for trying to hang with gangsters ; ending up having to run to the police again and again ?

Something strikes me as fishy about this show
 
This show is fantasicly bad. It almost seems like a "walk hard" parody of Cops.


I guess he is a good shooter. But, that Deputy was an amateur. He does symbolize a large percentage of the Coppers I work with-----I gotta qualify next week, I guess I should hit the range.
 
I saw my first (and last) episode last night. I noticed Segal has gotten a little pudgy. I wasn't impressed with the show. :(

Movie reviews and television show reviews are off topic everywhere else on TFL....
