Does anyone have or know where I can find hard stats on crime levels between states with "shall issue" vs. "may issue" CCW laws? How about changes since a state has changed from one to the other?
Yes. Everything you ever wanted to know (through about 1997) is in John Lott's book on his research, called "More Guns, Less Crime" - it is sold many places, including Amazon.com
Lott's work is a masterpiece. It is something that requires concentration to get through, and in measured doses, as it is a statistical/socioligical study, not a novel.
