State Of The Union Address

In my opinion, an outstanding address. The President covered alot of ground
and promised alot of changes. I believe in the current leadership, and I hope
that partisian politics doesn't get in the way of needed reform. It is time that
people stop saying yes or no based on political party, and say yes or no
based soley on what is best for the american people. What are your thoughts?

And as the President said, "God Bless America".

i would love to see the government act in the best interest of the people, and for partisan politics to end. can ya let me know when that happens :)

... i'll be waiting in the woods
... for a long time
... a very long time

:D

You know, I just had to add, something that struck me as really funny. My wife and I do not discuss politics. We never have. It is honestly not something that comes up over dinner. I have never tried to influence her voting, or her stance on issues. Tonight, we sat and watched the state of the union. Actually, I was watching, and didn't really realize she was there watching until about half way through. After it was over, we watched the Democratic Rebuttal. When that ended, my wife sat quietly for a minute, looking confused. I asked he what was the matter, and almost her exact words as near as I can remember were,

"Why are they (the democrats) saying that stuff? It is the SAME THING the president just said, but they try to make it seem like its not. They try to make you think they are the ones that came up with these ideas, when they are really just using different words, but saying the same thing. Or they act like the president DIDN'T just say the exact same thing. Do they think we're stupid?"

Out of the mouth of babes.....ya know......A sad show from the Dems really, staying seated as a whole and openly booing the president. C'mon, they are elected government officials, you would think they would have better decorum than fans at your average hockey game.......sad show.....

A good speech, except, where is Bin Laden, and why hasn't Bush closed the borders? He claims we have better border security, but that's crap, and the American people know it.

I missed the beginning. Did he mention anything about our second amendment, or anything related to guns in general? I'm sure it's far from her mind, but it killed me when the Democrat from California mentioned protecting our constitutional rights, this right after they take away the BMG.

State of the union, didn't watch it, use to, but it never changes. I'm sure it's the same ole retoric. Let me guess, he has a mandate from the people, the US is safer, we're winning the war on terror, the economy has never been stronger, along with our allies the world is a safer place. I forgot about the person he invited in the audience that was saved by whatever we did someplace. I wrote quite a bit more but didn't want to hurt anyones feelings so I deleted it.

The thing that bothered me the most about the night was actually when Nancy Pallossi (I know I spelled that wrong) said in her rebuttal, "Congress has provided billions of dollars for the rebuilding and reconstruction of Iraq."
Wrong, Congress has provided nothing. The American tax payer has provided billions. I don't know why, but that really drove me mental.
