I have nothing against people asking questions, yet, there are allot of them that ask "this and that" when it comes to transferring, having, or selling/having certain types of guns in their states.
Not to be mean or demeaning but folks, most states (actually I think all), have a site that states the statues of the state that you live in. In Oregon, we go to 166.*** to find our gun laws as well as our knife laws. We read this and get some clarification on what we can, and cannot do.
People, in order to answer some of your questions, you must use your time to go to your state laws, read them through, and then ask questions of your states reps and AG to find out if what you wish to do, can or cannot be done.
I'm not trying to be a butt hole here, I'm just trying to get you to learn and then interrupt the laws of your state.. When I first came to Oregon and Eugene I did searches on the law, called the sheriffs department, and asked the locals what they knew of the law.
As a result, knowing the law, I don't have to ask if I can own this or that gun, I know how to go about owning this or that gun (mainly talking about class III's here), I know that I can shoot in my backyard, I know that I can own a XM-15 with all the "evil features" intact, I know that I can own and carry an auto knife, and overall, I know the laws of the state that I live in.
As soon as I set foot upon this isle, I made the phone calls and after I got hooked up with internet, studied on my own.
Most to all states have the laws or statutes posted on the web. This is the first place that you go. The second is the Sheriffs office, and the last place is to a general board that covers all 50 states, European countries, and even more so.
Sorry for the rant, but what I am saying is to study, learn, and then make your decision. The computer is a great place to meet others, but it also makes an awesome tool when trying to learn about the state that you reside in, including its laws.
