While checking the midwayuse web site tonight I noticed Starline 38 special plus P brass for the same price as the regular brass. I usually reload at regular velocities so at this time do not need the plus P brass but who knows down the road. Would I need to do anything differently in my reloading steps with regular vs the Plus P.? If not I would think plus P would be the way to go.

From Starline's site:

38 SPL+P has no difference from the standard 38 SPL, other than headstamp designation for load segregation. This is due to the fact that our standard case design will handle +P pressures with no problems.

It's the same brass. It just says "+P" so you'll know you loaded it hotter and can keep it separate. :)
 
Beagle333 and hanno both stole my thunder.

I just purchased another thousand (2K perviously) 38 Special brass (non +P headstamp) directly from Starline.
 
I will agree its cheaper to buy directly from them. We stopped by their plant a couple weeks ago and bought 500 pcs of 357 magnum brass for 80 bucks.
 
I have also purchased directly from Starline:

500 Nickel 38 Special "+P"
500 44 Special
500 38 Short Colt
1000 10mm Auto
1000 357 Mag (non-nickel)

I'm very pleased with Starline. Good prices, and even better quality.

My UPS driver isn't as upset as my USPS driver - she seems to get all my lead purchases lol.
 
See that Nick_C_S purchased Nickel brass is there any advantage or disadvantage to it? Does it reload the same as yellow brass? Just trying to pick FLF members minds for the details in reloading.
 
The only reason why I purchased 38+P brass in nickel is that the ammo I made from them may sit around for a long time and I was concerned about tarnishing. I'll just leave it at that.

Brass/Nickel - they pretty much load the same.

At any rate, my preference for all but highly specialized applications (as above) is for regular brass brass. It seems more durable and polishes up real nice n pretty when tumbled with SS pins - but that's another post by itself.

I've made my various Starline purchases over the last couple years or so.

My most recent purchase - the 1K of 38 Special - was about a week n a half ago. It was showing backorder about three weeks ago. So I set up the notification. I got notified; I ordered. It worked.
