anyone know about these, cole distributions has the 1911 ww2 star copy in 9x19nato for like 220$,what i need to know is will colt mags fit, are they dependable, interchangable parts between colts etc,the usual.thanx

Hello. I own a Star Model B in 9mm. Their parts and magazines are unique to them, ie: the Colt parts/magazines do NOT interchange.

The pistols are reliable and reasonably accurate. Do NOT dry-fire these Stars. Unlike some latter Star designs, these have their firing pins secured via a vertical pin under the rear sight that fits in a notch on the side of the firing pin. I'm told that much dry firing will break the firing pin.

I don't think that Star pistols are currently being imported and this version has not been made for several years. In my view, a clean Star Model B is worth the price you mention.
Best.

thanx , so far its a tossup between that with waffenampt german markings and matching#'s for the 239 i guess or a feg hi power.meantime im still taking a hard look at whats available at the moment as well,i need a nine like a hole in the head with allreddy having a cz52 in 9nato but the 1911 setup got me .........

Hello again, sir. I rather like the old Model Bs. They're more "graceful" than they appear and while long (5" bbl), they are thin. I liked mine well enough to have some adjustable sights added as well as checkering the frontstrap. Best.

after carefully looking over the last 100 pages of web sites i think im going to go ahead next friday and have my dealer just order it, i was toseed between that or an feg hi power clone but i like the longer barrel and the last old p35 browning i had would be too much to replace, this one should be a fine shooter i hope,it will probably get the polish job on the trigger and feed ramp etc possibly a target rear if i can get away with it,will make a good companion for the cz52 i converted to 9mm at the range, i thank you again kind sir for the help and info!

On quality, I would go with the FEG, which is a well made pistol. All Spanish pistols tend to be soft (IMHO, Llama is worst, Astra best, Star in between). This is not really any problem unless one plans to spend a lot of money on the gun and do a lot of shooting.

about the most thing im concerned with now is parts availability, seems the star parts are drying up as ive been searching and doing my homework, the better half likes the feg alot, but i dont like the new pc safety mag release on them at all.the star had bit me good tho with the 5 inch barrel in a 9mm pattern and the waffenampt markings also had me good too.i dunno its still a tossup,if i dont watch out mama just may take the cash and get the feg when im not looking!,if she does im had and bought into a complete hone job on the hp to get it to function as my older hp did we shal see..........
