Allright, the saga begins. Last night I was checking out my SA-9 for wear. I have taken the pistol out once and put 100 rounds of Winchester white box through it. Low and behold, the receiver is cracked in two places. Once crack goes from the inside of the takedown pin hole clear through the slide rail. The other originates on the side of the receiver through the bottom end.
I called Standard Arms three times today. They didn't return my call, so I got the service department the third time by dropping a name I had gotten from the receptionist ("hey its me, can I talk to Bob"). Well, the guy seemed surprised I got through, and said they will repair or replace (there ain't no repairing this baby - although I guess they can replace the receiver). I asked for a refund and he hemmed and hawed, and basically said not this time.
I will update everyone once the saga is over. Consider my expenses an investment in making sure nobody makes the same mistakes.
