Stance.

Anybody know of a good web resource for the new handgunner for proper form/stance?

I am familiar with the Weaver stance/grip (by description), but I was reading some gun rag the other day and there was some discussion of something called iscoseles, or somesuch.

Good book references with lots of pictures would be nice. I am looking for other gun enthusiasts in the area, but at the range, I almost only see hunter/rifle types...

There is no 'correct' stance, unless you are talking about a specific discipline.

The most progressive school of thought suggests that you 'go with what you have', because if you delay so as to acquire the 'correct' stance/grip/sight picture you will wait too long and lose.

Suggest finding the nearest USPSA club and spending some time with them.....

The pros and cons of various stances have been dicussed here many times. I suggest you do a search and read what has already be written.
The general conclusion is learn the basics of both, adjust to fit your needs and go with what feels best to you.
