Time to post this search for information again with an update, I've managed to acquire an 1861 Navy since the last request for information making my collection consist of an 1851 Navy; 1860 Army with rebated cylinder; 1860 Army with fluted cylinder; and the 1861 Navy cut for shoulder stock.

I am seeking the location of, and any information available on a line of stainless steel percussion Colt revolvers made by Uberti and imported by Allen Firearms, Santa Fe, NM; Southwest Muzzleloaders Supply, Inc. Angleton, TX, Uberti USA, and possibly others in the early to mid '80s. Phil Spangenberger did an article about these stainless revolvers in the October 1983 issue of Guns and Ammo Magazine. According to the article, the models that were being imported were the 1851 Navy, 1860 Army, 1861 Navy, 1862 Pocket Navy, and 1862 Pocket police. Thanks to Dr. J.L. Davis of RPRCA, Claremore, OK, I have a 1984 price list for Uberti products that lists fourteen different models of Stainless Steel Colts produced by Uberti at that time. Subsequent price lists expanded the line to 16 models by adding 4 ½ inch barreled Pocket Navy and Pocket Police. The complete model list, known so far, is:

(* - have identified location of examples of these models)
(@ - have this model)

So far, I have four of these revolvers and know of sixteen others in hands of other collectors or BP shooters. Anyone with information concerning Allen Firearms, Southwest Muzzleloaders Supply or any other Uberti Stainless Steel Colt style revolvers is requested to contact fingersmcgee@charter.net I am seeking information as to models, manufacture dates, serial numbers, barrel markings, and any other characteristics as well as any catalog, brochure and original packaging information.

Of course, if anyone has any for sale, I would be interested in that also.

Thanks in advance for any info.

Fingers my friend...I truly wish you all the best of luck in your search for those beautiful works of art...an i'm jealous as all get out:)

Why stop with Uberti? ASM also made some models in stainless. I have an 1860 Army with the shoulder stock. It shoots sweet.

Greetings.... I have one of the stainless 1860 Army that you are referencing. Unfired with hang tag, box with brochures, etc. I also have a Bianchi Civil War type black flap holster that has a large rampent Colt on the flap in lieu of the oval US. I am told they were made in very limited numbers for the 2nd generation series. Box has gold end label with gold stickers in each block identifying the specs of the revolver. I obtained this from an estate and know nothing more about the piece(s).

What value do these pieces have and just how rare are they or are they rare at all?

Thanks Jed; but that's not what I'm looking for. 1596 SS 2nd Gen Colt 1860 Armies were made in 1982. Current NIB value is around $900.00

I'm looking for Uberti made & marked SS 1860s that were made from 1983 to 1987.
