Stainless Steel gun finishes?

Is their any kind of finish that can be applied to a stainless steel firearm, specifically a revolver? I am really interested in getting a S&W 625, but am not a fan of stainless guns. More of a blued steel man myself. Can something like Dura Coat or something similar be applied to stainless steel? For some reason I am intrigued with the possibility of a OD green finish. I'm just curious and appreciatte any replies.

Stainless Steel Blueing

If you're really a fan of blueing, then you can get a stainless steel gun hot blued. You can't get a really high polish, about 400 grit is the limit.

"...you can get a stainless steel gun hot blued..." Um, no. SS doesn't take bluing. Brownell's sells a product for blackening SS. Same idea as cold bluing.

You might want to try bead blasting.
By varying the medium, you can get different finishes. From a light frosting to a heavy matt finish. Nice thing is that if you don't overdo it, it can generally be buffed back out.
I have the frames of several of my competition guns blasted to cut down on the glare and provide a cleaner sight picture on bright sunny days. Know several people that have done it to hunting rifles to cut down on reflections and make for a matt-grey finish.
