Hi All:

Just picked up a new M&P 9 Pro with a stainless slide. Besides oiling the slide, etc, is there something special I need to do to keep the shine of the stainless? Any tips?

Wear from handling, holstering and just exposure to air will, over time, dull the shine. How much, and how fast depends on many variables. Scratches and rub marks are going to happen if the gun gets used & carried.

If you want to keep it shiny, polish it once in a while. There are several products that will do a good job. One of them is called Gunbrite, another is Flitz metal polish. The trick, of course, is to keep the polish off what you don't want polished.

And, just so you know, "stainless" steel isn't. It is much more resistant to rust and stains than "regular" steel, but it can rust, it just takes longer.

All M&P's have a stainless steel slide. They are either Black Melonite, tan or OD green.... what stainless "shine" are you talking about?
