Stainless firearms subject to galling?

I've heard that SS weapons require more lubrication and are more subject to galling than blued weapons. Any opinions about this?

Not any more. Was a problem back in late-60s/early-70s, but that has long since been eleminated. Of course, if you're looking at one from that era, it might be a problem.

Galling was a problem with stainless steel guns when parts of the same hardness were used (slide against frame). The solution was to use a milder stainless steel for one part and proper lubrication. As mentioned by the above posting, this was a problem with earlier guns and the metallurgists of modern firms have resolved it.
