Stagg AR's?

I'm no AR expert but believe Stag generally has a pretty decent reputation. Not in the top tier but not one of the bottom feeders either. Most of the folks who own ARs, including myself, don't really need top tier ARs. But, nobody wants the bottom feeder, either.

I own three Stags. Never had any issues with any of them. Also Stag offers a lifetime warrany on their barrels.

I have a stag, my only AR firearm at the time. Have brothers-in-laws that have everything under the sun. One is a lefty and has all of the lefty models for Stag. While there are features the Stag probably doesn't have compared to the Colt and others, it is very dependable and accurate. You won't hear people talking about them not working. I like mine and would not trade it for what I paid for it.

sometimes I think people think the name is important - sounds better to say I own a Colt rather than a Stag. In the end, for what you are likely to do with it, you won't notice the difference. Put the extra money in a pistol or ammo.

I would spend the extra money and Get a Colt or a BCM . Run them long and hard and see what happens . As a range toy you can make tacticool any brand will do. I am not sure if you have read thes link but there is lots of real good AR info espically the comparison link.http://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=7009

Generally the stickies at M4cnet are good, BUT some of the stuff written by so called "industry professionals" should be taken with a grain of salt, plus or minus a pound or two. "Industry Professional" in some cases, is just some smuck selling AR parts and presenting a very bias opinion.

I have one of their lefty models and have been very pleased. Quality is on part with Bushmaster, Colt, etc. Nothing special but it gets the job done reliably and accurately.

Had mine about 5 years now several 1000s of rounds of different loads
no problems mine dont like steel case ammo but it not a problem.

mines is a 20'' flat top shoots pretty good around 1.5 @ 100
Had people tell Me I should have got the Colt but for the money & what I use it for I have NO complaint with MY STAG.

I have a 4L and I love it the only time it didnt go bang was because of a dud round. I plan on getting at least another one and would definitely recommend one.

I own a Stag piston driven AR and really enjoy it. I also use a Stag 6.8 SPCII upper on my RRA LAR15 NM lower. It has been a great performer as well. I'd get a Stag if I was looking for another AR. I've had zero issues to date.

I have a Model 3 and just love it. I've added a extractor upgrade kit and an "H" byffer to it and it will work with any ammo I feed it. For my personal use I've also changed out the fore arm with a Troy railed, Magpul enlarged trigger guard, and a Magpul CTR butt stock.

I have four ARs, the Stag Model 3 is the only non-Colt of the bunch & it'll stay that way.
Normally, I see no reason to buy an AR that doesn't say Colt on it (this is just me), but in working with the Stag it impressed me enough to keep it.

Company has a good rep.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I have a BCM Stag, and had a Colt as well.

All 3 were fine.. the Stag and BCM hold up just as well.

I sell guns for a living and am a schmuck... but I tell people to avoid mrcarbine.net.

They seem to forget the fact that CMT... Stag Arms parent corporation... makes a lot of the Full Auto BCG's, receivers, and select fire controls on their beloved brands (such as Colt, Noveske, ect.) for both civilian and military contracts.

Well said HKFan9, you dont have to spend 2K to get a solid AR. The Stag will serve you well. I often wonder how many manufactures there really are for AR parts.

Stags are good to go and I love how they look. Actually I have owned Double Star, Stags, Palmetto, DSA, Sharps, and Colt Lowers and couldn't tell much difference between any of them really.

There's mainly 3 big players... CMT being one of them.. that A LOT of AR Manufacturers use their parts/receivers, including Colt.

There are also smaller players.

Stag makes a great gun for the price you can pick one up for. I favor my BCM I do admit.... only because its set up to my personal tastes the best.... My Stag runs just as well. My Colt was good too but when everyone just hadda have an Evil black rifle... and you get people who think Colt's are made by the gods.. I sold it for quite a bit of profit.
